Ask for casting numbers, photographs of markings, and measurements when buying critical components. Compatibility fields in listings are helpful, but the buyer should confirm against factory service data or a trusted parts specialist.
Prefer traceable payments for strangers
Avoid irreversible transfer methods until you trust the counterparty. If you must use cash, meet in a safe, public location and bring a friend when moving heavy items.
Shipping heavy or fragile parts
Require adequate padding and insurance for glass, trim, and sheet metal. Photograph the package before it leaves your shop; it simplifies claims if a carrier damages the shipment.
Watch for common scams
